Adjustable Crossover and Bass Boost

Customize your subwoofer's output with a built-in 12 dB/octave low-pass filter adjustable from 50 to 500 Hz. The variable bass boost EQ provides additional control over low-frequency response, helping you fine-tune your system to match your subwoofer and listening preferences. Convenient top-mounted controls make adjustments accessible during installation and setup.

Flexible Inputs and Signal Integration

Dual-range, differential-balanced inputs accommodate a variety of source signal levels while helping reduce noise interference. Automatic turn-on options using signal sensing or DC-offset sensing simplify integration with compatible audio systems. Preamp outputs also allow the signal to pass to additional amplifiers when expanding your setup.

Clipping Indicator and System Monitoring

The onboard LED clipping indicator helps you adjust input sensitivity and identify when the amplifier signal is clipping. A dual-color LED status strip provides a convenient visual reference for amplifier operation, helping simplify system setup and monitoring.

Compact Design with Optional Remote Control

The RD500/1 features a compact housing with a durable black powder-coated finish, making it suitable for installations where space is limited. For added convenience, the optional JL Audio RBC-1 remote control, sold separately, lets you adjust subwoofer output from the driver's seat.

EFFICIENT CLASS-D DESIGN: Small size, minimal heat and lots of power — Class-D amplifier design offers significant advantages. And our NexD switching technology adds even more, using enhanced pulse width modulation techniques to boost the amplifier’s bandwidth while minimizing distortion and improving efficiency.
CLEAN, POWERFUL, RELIABLE: With a choice of 500- or 1000-watt versions — stable to 2 ohms, or a 1500-watt version stable to 1 ohm — the RD series offers a variety of models to drive your subwoofer. The high-efficiency design enables them to run cooler and put less strain on your electrical system than conventional amplifiers.
STUDIO-GRADE SIGNAL PROCESSING: For easy setup and interface with your speaker system, the RD series features a 12-decibel/octave low-pass filter, with continuously variable frequency selection from 50–500 Hz and a variable bass boost EQ.
LED CLIPPING INDICATOR RINGS: An LED clipping indicator ring that surrounds each input level potentiometer lets you quickly and accurately set your amplifier’s input sensitivity, without the need for additional test equipment.
AUTOMATIC TURN-ON FEATURE: This helpful feature, selectable between signal sensing and DC offset sensing modes, comes standard on all RD series amps.
DIFFERENTIAL-BALANCED INPUTS: Combating induced cable noise, this technology allows for the use of conventional RCA cables while delivering many of the benefits of a true balanced connection and accepting a wide range of input signal levels.
NexD SWITCHING TECHNOLOGY: Using enhanced pulse width modulation techniques, NexD technology achieves exceptional audio fidelity and efficiency while delivering high-power output from very compact amplifier designs.
